Engineering’s spring career fair approaches; get the app and get ready

Engineering students whose next summer’s to-do list include an internship, co-op or a fulltime job should begin preparing for MU Engineering’s spring career fair, scheduled to take place on the Hearnes Center Concourse from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10.

For the first time, career seekers can access the University of Missouri Career Fair Plus app at the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store to help plan their job-hunting strategy. Featured on the app is detailed information about each of the 144 recruiting companies attending the fair with search features for the positions they are recruiting. Applicants also can find tips and advice on putting their best foot forward as well as event details and updates. Resume paper is available at the Student Services Office in Lafferre Hall for those who need it.

Shuttle service from Reynolds Alumni Center to the Hearnes Center is available beginning at 9:45 a.m. at 15-minute intervals.

Matt Arri, who oversees the College of Engineering Career Services Office, said the event is the largest spring fair ever with an increase of 20 companies over the previous record. Several companies are participating for the first time, including Google.

Student organizations co-hosting the spring fair are Alpha Omega Epsilon and Sigma Phi Delta.
