The American Society for Engineering Education recently named Richard Warder, professor emeritus of mechanical and aerospace engineering, a fellow at its annual conference in Seattle. The honor is bestowed upon members “in recognition of outstanding contributions to engineering or engineering technology education.”

Warder joined the University of Missouri College of Engineering as an associate professor in 1968, becoming a full professor in 1972. He served as department chair of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department and James C. Dowell Professor from 1988 until 1994, when he left to take over as dean of the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis, a post he held until retiring in 2012.
