Germany: Six credit option

ENGR 3000 Global Leadership for Engineers & ENGR 2100 Circuit Theory for Engineers

Maximize your summer experience and earn six credit hours of MU engineering credit in Germany! Courses will be taught in English. You will be spending six weeks traveling throughout Germany taking the following MU College of Engineering courses.

ENGR 3000 Global Leadership for Engineers: Experience Germany’s rich history and culture while learning about their latest engineering and science innovations in Berlin, Dresden, and Munich. With the goal to train our engineers to be successful in the 21st century global competitive market, this course provides students with introductory global competencies in leadership and management and the engineering profession through professional development sessions as well as corporate and cultural site visits in Germany.

A 7-week pre-departure class will be held from April-May 2018

ENGR 2100 Circuit Theory for Engineers: Join MU Engineering professor, Robert O’Connell, for Circuit Theory this summer at Heidelberg’s European Study Center. In addition to the campus culture at European Study Center and the surrounding area, there will be cultural excursions and co-curricular activities available to fit around your class schedule. Classes, company visits and cultural excursions will be held Monday through Thursday, with three-day weekends to allow you more time to explore.

Pre-requisites: Calculus II (Math 1700)

Program Dates
Students depart the United States on Sunday, May 20, 2018 and return on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

Costs

  • Program Fee: $6,194*
    * Includes housing, international health insurance, Engineering Study Abroad fees, International Center fees, cultural excursions, local transportation, and some meals.

Additional Costs:

  • Tuition & Educational Fees (6 credits hours): $2,519*
    * Based on Missouri Resident tuition & fees
  • Roundtrip Airfare: $1,300- $1,400

Financial Aid

Financial Aid packages are typically granted in the form of low-interest student loans that cover all trip related expenses (tuition, fees, accommodations, activities and personal expenses)

To be considered for aid, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a study abroad trip
  • Complete your financial aid worksheet with your study abroad advisor
  • Take the sheet to Student Financial Aid in 11 Jesse Hall to meet with a financial aid advisor (no appointment necessary or an appointment can be made through MU Connect).

If you are awarded financial aid for study abroad, it will be applied to your MU account according to the regular financial aid disbursement schedule.
