Italy: 6 Credit Option

ENGR 3000 Global Leadership for Engineers MAE 2300 Thermodynamics or MAE 2600 Dynamics

Maximize your summer experience and earn 6 hours of MU engineering credit in Italy! You will be spending close to 6 weeks in Italy taking the follollowing MU College of Engineering courses:Italy 6 credits

ENGINR 3000 Global Leadership for Engineers (3 credit hours): Experience Italy’s rich history and culture while learning about their latest engineering and science innovations in Florence, Rome, Venice, and Milan. With the goal to train our engineers to be successful in the 21st century global competitive market, this course provides students with introductory global competencies in leadership and management and the engineering profession through professional development sessions as well as corporate and cultural site visits in Italy.

MAE 2300 Thermodynamics (3 credit hours): Join MU Engineering professor, Stephen Lombardo, for Thermodynamics this summer in Florence. In addition to the campus culture at the CEA Florence Study Center and the surrounding area, there will be tours and activities available to fit around your class schedule. Classes and company projects will be held Monday-Thursday, with three-day weekends to allow more time to explore.

MAE 2600 Dynamics (3 credit hours): Join MU Engineering professor, Josiah Bryan, for Dynamics this summer in Florence. In addition to the campus culture at the CEA Florence Study Center and the surrounding area, there will be tours and activities available to fit around your class schedule. Classes and company projects will be held Monday-Thursday, with three-day weekends to allow more time to explore.

Program Dates
Students depart the United States on Monday, May 14, 2018 and return on Saturday, June 23, 2018.

Costs

Program Fee: $5,164*
* Includes housing, international health insurance, Engineering Study Abroad fees, International Center fees, cultural excursions, local transportation and some meals.

Additional Costs:

  • Tuition & Educational Fees (6 credits hours): $2,518*
    * Based on Missouri Resident tuition & fees
  • Roundtrip Airfare: $1,200-1,300

Financial Aid

Italy 6 credits

Financial Aid packages are typically granted in the form of low-interest student loans that cover all trip related expenses (tuition, fees, accommodations, activities and personal expenses)

To be considered for aid, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a study abroad trip
  • Complete your financial aid worksheet with your study abroad advisor
  • Take the sheet to Student Financial Aid in 11 Jesse Hall to meet with a financial aid advisor (no appointment necessary or an appointment can be made through MU Connect).

If you are awarded financial aid for study abroad, it will be applied to your MU account according to the regular financial aid disbursement schedule.
