‘Training the trainers’ is theme in third year of MU-Iraqi faculty workshops

Throughout the Fall 2015 semester, MU mechanical engineering C.W. LaPierre Professor Sanjeev Khanna is officiating a series of three workshops for visiting Iraqi faculty as part of the University Linkage Program (ULP), funded by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and administered by the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX).

Assistant professor presents on nuclear safeguards in energy-deficient Ghana

In late June, Matthew Bernards was invited to travel to Accra to give a presentation on the certificate during a one-week professional development course titled “Introduction to Nuclear Security and Safeguards for Sub-Sahara Africa.”

James Keller, a Curators Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science departments, recently was named an Honorary Professor by the University of Nottingham and spent time at the British university giving a pair of talks and further building relationships with other researchers.

Mizzou and Russian engineering students exchange automotive racing knowledge

During Mizzou’s spring break, some MU College of Engineering students talked engineering with Russian students as nine members from MU’s SAE Formula Car and Mizzou Eco Racing teams traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia, to swap stories and expertise with students from St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University (SPBSTU).

Chance meeting results in conference, research opportunities and collaborations

A chance meeting with engineering faculty from India’s Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) and a reciprocal visit to India by MU LaPierre Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Sanjeev Khanna resulted in a memorandum of understanding for research collaborations between MU and MNNIT in 2011.
