Lauren Grubbs, CiE ’12, was an honors undergraduate research student who worked with Assistant Teaching Professor Enos Inniss during her senior year, evaluating bioretention performance for stormwater quality and quantity controls.

Fully 175 companies participated in the fall Career Fair at Mizzou Arena, a 17 percent increase over the previous record. And nearly 2,000 engineering students with résumés in hand circulated and chatted with potential employers — a 10 percent increase over the next highest number of participants.

Zhang Wang, who earned his doctorate in computer science at MU in 2012, accepted a professorship at The University of Southern Mississippi last May to teach and conduct new research.

A computer science student will soon make his final departure from MU, making the momentous jump from pupil to teacher. Jesse Eickholt, doctoral candidate in computer science, accepted an assistant professorship with Central Michigan University (CMU) where he will start in July.

After earning his master’s and business degrees at a university abroad, Ecuadorian native Jorge Abad returned to his South American alma mater to teach, rising through the ranks and eventually becoming an associate dean. A student once more, he’s working on his doctoral degree through MU’s IMSE program.
