Graduation Requirements
Required Convocation (Graduation) Forms
- Post Graduation Plans Survey
- Prior to graduation, this online survey is submitted to Engineering Career Services.
- The Dean’s Office uses this data to track placement rates and employment information.
- Graduation Form (PDF)
- Must be completed, printed and submitted to their department at the beginning of a student’s final semester.
- The form is used to gather information to be used in the graduation program regarding activities and honors achieved by the student.
- The student also provides an address to which his or her diploma is to be sent.
Convocation (Graduation) Guest Tickets
- Fall Semester Convocation
No Tickets required due to smaller number of graduating seniors. - Spring Semester Convocation
Tickets are required for anyone who attends Engineering Convocation (except the graduating seniors). There are a limited number of seats and graduating seniors are notified of the number of tickets available to each of them. - Questions regarding convocation should contact the Dean’s Office.
Diploma
- Mailed to the student several weeks after verification of completion of all requirements for graduation.

Honor Chords
The College of Engineering does not provide Honor Chords for students receiving Latin or Engineering Honors. Students wishing to purchase and wear Honors Chords may do so. Please check with your Director of Undergraduate Studies to verify that you do qualify.
The following chord colors have been adopted by the University of Missouri College of Engineering:
- Honors Scholar: 1 Orange Chord
- Cum Laude: 1 White Chord (if also Honors Scholar you may add 1 orange chord)
- Magna Cum Laude: 1 White Chord and 1 Gold Chord (if also Honors Scholar you may add 1 orange chord)
- Summa Cum Laude: 1 White Chord, 1 Gold Chord, and 1 Kelly Green Chord (if also Honors Scholar you may add 1 orange chord)
FE Exam
- The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is the first step to becoming a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- A student who passes the exam becomes an Engineer In Training (EIT).
- Students are strongly encouraged to take the exam when they are within 12 months of graduation.
- The exam is given in April and October of each year, and registration is due the prior December or May, respectively.

CAAP Exam
- The CAAP tests for general knowledge.
- It is a graduation requirement for all Mizzou students and is generally administered in the capstone course.
