What’s it really like, being an engineer at Mizzou?

That’s the million-dollar question, but all those brochures, pamphlets and recruiting soft sells won’t really give you a taste of the reality of engineering life here. You want a good, satisfactory answer to your question before you commit; which is exactly the kind of mindset an engineer needs.

The Mizzou Engineering Student Council hosts High School Day. You will be introduced to each of our engineering departments and given a tour of Mizzou’s incredible campus. You’ll work in groups on design challenges and get some prime networking opportunity with Mizzou professors. And for bonus experience, you’ll be sent on wild goose chases through Lafferre Hall, where engineering students spend much of their time.

The best people to ask about what it’s really like our current engineering students, and you’ll get plenty of interaction with them throughout your day. You will be led through your day by a MESC representative, and you will talk with leaders in the engineering school and executive members of undergraduate engineering organizations. They will advise you on what doesn’t make it into the brochures: class recommendations, the best places to eat on campus, and most importantly, why they chose to enroll in the University of Missouri’s College of Engineering.

During High School Day, you will be fed all day, receive a T-shirt, will get an opportunity to enjoy yourself at the best collegiate recreational facility in the nation and get to hang out with the coolest engineering students this side of the Mississippi River. So, is there really a reason not to sign up?

Make checks payable to the “MU College of Engineering” and write “High School Day” in the memo line.
