Explore engineering

You'll learn what engineers really do and the tools they use in our weeklong summer camps. Our camps will introduce you to engineering's various disciplines through hands-on activities and team design competitions while you make new friends and enjoy a taste of campus life.

Program

You'll spend your summer camp mornings learning about engineering disciplines from leaders in their fields, while rubbing shoulders with some of the brightest students in the nation. You'll gain practical engineering experience during lab and industry visits in the afternoon, and test your skills in friendly student competitions during the evening.

Your introduction to Mizzou and the world of engineering will include plenty of challenges and a lot of fun.

Recognizing success

We will recognize winning design projects and individual student performances during an award ceremony on the last day of camp. Invite your parents to attend the design project testing and awards ceremony to cheer you on.

Dates & Location

Three six-day sessions on the University of Missouri campus: July 6-11, July 13-18 and July 20-25, 2008. Program fee is $400.

Registration will run from 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the first day of camp, which will be a Sunday.

We invite parents and family members to join the campers and staff and faculty members for that Sunday's dinner. The camps will end at noon six days later, on a Friday.

Eligibility
  • You must be enrolled in 10th-, 11th- or 12th-grade for the 2008-09 school year in order to apply.
  • You should have completed one or more laboratory science courses, and at least two units of high school mathematics.
  • Please enclose a copy of your school transcript along with your registration form. Enrollment is limited, so apply early to ensure your acceptance.
Cancellation policy

The University of Missouri reserves the right to cancel programs in the event of insufficient registrations, severe weather or natural disaster. In the event of program cancellation, registrants will be notified immediately and all fees will be returned in full. If you wish to cancel your registration, you must do so two weeks before the first day of your chosen session. No refunds will be available after that date.
