About
The Symposium will be hosted by the MU College of Engineering and the NanoTechnology Enterprise Consortium, NTEC.
The purpose of the Symposium is to share with you a broad sampling of nano research being conducted at MU and in the state– including defense, medicine, materials and energy - along with an update on progress on the newly formed nano consortium - NanoTechnology Enterprise Consortium, NTEC. The goal of NTEC is to create an effective teaming environment for identifying nanotechnology opportunities, which can be developed into applications that serve both military and commercial markets through shared investment, both public and private. Members include technology providers, developers, producers or users.
Senator “Kit” Bond is slated to be the keynote speaker and will be joined by nationally significant speakers and participants from government and industry including individuals from NSF and NIH, also DoD, as well as the executive director of NTEC.
The Symposium is scheduled for all day Wednesday, November 18 and the morning of Thursday, November 19, 2009. The second half of the 19th is an NTEC ‘Members Only’ meeting, to begin to identify projects of interest with the Army. Scheduled tours of the various labs will be available on Thursday. Posters on nanotechnology will be on display throughout the symposium with manned sessions at various times through both days.
