John J. Bowders is the William A. Davidson professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. Before his current appointment, Bowders worked in the civil engineering department of the University of Texas at Austin for three years and served on the faculty at West Virginia University for nine years. During his tenure at West Virginia University, Bowders was on-site advisor to the U.S. Army Research Office’s terrestrial sciences program. He is a registered professional engineer in Missouri and West Virginia.
