C. Alec Chang is an associate professor in the Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. Chang also has served as a research scientist at the U.S. Army’s Human Engineering Laboratory in Maryland and as editor of The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology. With more than 10 years of industrial experience in information and manufacturing systems design, Chang has focused on work station design, information systems design and design retrieval. He is a registered professional engineer in Missouri and has led research projects in design retrieval systems and industrial quality issues, supported by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Army Human Engineering Laboratory and the Department of Defense. Chang has published 80 articles derived from his research.
