Zhen Chen is a C.W. LaPierre professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Missouri.  He is a recipient of the prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER grant. Chen spent several years working for the New Mexico Engineering Research Institute and Sandia National Laboratories before joining the MU faculty in 1995. He has received research grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Research Council, Sandia National Laboratories, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the Army Research Office, General Motors and other funding sources.
