Verne Kaupp is director and research professor at the Interdisciplinary Center for Research in Earth Science Technology in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. He is a long-term member of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, was periodically a member of the Administrative Committee, and was the general chairman of the 2004 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium held in Anchorage, Alaska. Kaupp is active in research and works with the NASA Applied Sciences Program for transferring science results to operational decision support systems to enhance resource and policy decision information availability. He is currently exploring engineering opportunities for mitigating climate change.
