Galen J. Suppes is a professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. He was the recipient of the 2006 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award. He serves as the American Institute of Chemical Engineers’ (AIChe) fuels and petrochemicals area 16d programming chair, and chairs the AIChe topical conferences on fuel cell technology. Suppes joined the MU faculty after several years at the University of Kansas and industrial experience at Dow Chemical. Suppes has received funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation and the United Soybean Board. He has been a registered professional engineer in Kansas and Texas. He holds the J.C. Dowell Professorship.
