Shawn Yunsheng Xu is a research associate professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Missouri and founder of the MU College of Engineering’s Missouri International Training Institute, which provides training for international professionals. Xu served as an advisor to the Beijing 2008 Olympics Committee in its use of renewable energy in the Beijing Olympic facilities, including the Olympic Village and the National Stadium of China. He also is helping MU faculty transfer technology to China by helping to establish an MU College of Engineering Environmental and Energy Technology Office in Beijing with a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce. Xu serves as director of the Chinese Chapter of the International Ground Source Heat Pumps Association as well.
