Zheng Yan Assistant Professor
Dr. Zheng Yan is an assistant professor in Department of Chemical Engineering and Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Missouri. He was previously a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Xi’an Jiao Tong University, followed by a master’s degree from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. degree from Rice University.
Dr. Yan’s research interests center on designing new functional materials and unusual micro/nanostructures, through the combined efforts in chemical manipulation, material innovations, mechanical design, and advanced micro/nanomanufacturing, for the next-generation bio-integrated energy and electronic devices. His research program currently consists of the following three themes: (1) synthesis and manipulation of emerging soft electronic materials, such as 2D materials, organic electronic materials, and hydrogels; (2) development of next-generation skin-like electronic, optoelectronic and energy devices; (3) deterministic assembly of 3D electronic devices.
