Engineering vs Tech School

In the spectrum of tech knowledge, what is the difference between a engineering degree and a technical degree?
An engineering degree focuses heavily on theory and optimizing systems to make them better, faster and stronger. It will be very math intensive.
Technical schools focus on more hands-on-work, with less of the math and less of the theory behind engineering.
Engineering students can gain the hands on side of the chart through participating in student teams and organizations, performing undergraduate research and by working related internships.
Joining competition teams will put the classroom theory to solid use in in the field.
