Five students from the Chemical Engineering Department earned Outstanding Student Awards at the Engineering Awards Banquet on March 13.
A chance meeting with engineering faculty from India’s Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) and a reciprocal visit to India by MU LaPierre Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Sanjeev Khanna resulted in a memorandum of understanding for research collaborations between MU and MNNIT in 2011.

Matt Maschmann, an assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of Missouri, will publish an article in the upcoming edition of the journal Carbon outlining his findings on the characterization of carbon nanotube forest formation and their resulting mechanical properties.
Brock Scoville, a senior bioengineering major, recently was selected as a 2015 Mizzou ’39 award recipient. Mizzou ’39 is an honor bestowed on 39 MU seniors annually in recognition of “their academic achievement, leadership and service to Mizzou and the community.”
Jung Hyup Kim, assistant professor of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering at MU, and his student research team recently began using motion-capture and eye-tracking technology to investigate the relationship between human perception stress and performance using human-in-the-loop simulation.
