Consumer Electronics Show opens doors for Panacea’s Cloud

Panacea’s Cloud is a collaboration between MU researchers Prasad Calyam, assistant professor of computer science, and Sal Ahmad, assistant professor of surgery and medical director of the Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Its purpose is to utilize Google Glass and Recon Jet smart eyewear to allow first responders to relay real-time information to medical directors to allow for informed, systematic care in disaster situations where communication systems may otherwise be compromised.

Chemical engineer lands Research Starter Grant in Pharmaceutics

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Foundation selected Assistant Professor Bret Ulery as a recipient of a Research Starter Grant in Pharmaceutics in December. He received the one-year, $100,000 grant to continue his work on vaccine delivery systems.

MU researchers to present at national trade show

Prasad Calyam, assistant professor of computer science, and Sal Amad, assistant professor of surgery in the MU School of Medicine medical director of the Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care Units at MU Health Care, will present Panacea’s Cloud at the Consumer Electronics Show, which will take place from Jan. 6-9.
