MU Engineering’s Fitterling, Hennings, Naka lauded for alumni achievement
Mizzou Engineering was well represented during April’s MU Donor Recognition Weekend. The College kicked off the weekend brunch commemorating the relaunch of our Shamrock Society and creation of the Dean’s Leadership Circle to honor its most ardent supporters.
College of Engineering alumni Jim Fitterling (BS ME ’83) and Elsa Hennings (BS ME ’82) earned Alumni Awards from the Mizzou Alumni Association. The awards are bestowed in recognition of alumni’s professional accomplishments and service to MU. Fitterling currently is the president and chief operating officer for The Dow Chemical Company, and Hennings is a senior systems engineer at the Naval Air Warfare Center in California.
In addition, the late F. Robert Naka, a 1945 MU Engineering graduate, was selected for a Jefferson Club Golden Quill Alumni Excellence Award. Naka, the father of stealth technology, joined a distinguished group by having his name added to the Notable Alumni Wall in Jesse Hall.
