Mizzou develops and promotes programs and collaborative partnerships that support new and existing businesses, that bring innovative ideas to market and that elevate our quality of life throughout the state of Missouri.

Office of Technology Management and Industry Relations

The University of Missouri takes ideas from the lab to the marketplace. University of Missouri inventors and scientists work with the MU Office of Technology Management & Industry Relations (OTMIR) to move their innovations to market in partnership with companies, entrepreneurs and investors.


The faculty, staff and students from the University of Missouri College of Engineering are active in their community. Student organizations participate in a bevy of outreach events and give facility tours and host local events for participants of all ages. Faculty frequently donate their time to these events and work extensively with student organizations, and they build relationships with local institutions for beneficial research and additional capstone projects that enrich our community. Staff participate in charity events and food drives benefitting local organizations such as the Heart of Missouri United Way, Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri and more.
