Engineering Sustainability Minor

The Sustainability Minor requires a minimum of 15 credits of course work, including the required course CV_ENG 2800 Introduction to Engineering Sustainability, and a minimum of 12 credit hours from the list of approved emphasis area courses.

Thematic Elective

The “Thematic Elective” or an experiential learning class involving independent individual or group service projects, study abroad projects and capstone courses with a sustainability-focus will be allowed as one of the approved emphasis area courses with special approval from the Minor Coordinator. A page-long “Thematic Elective” approval request should be sent to the Minor Coordinator and should include details of scope, content and justification of effort involved. The effort should be consistent with a 3-credit course. A written approval by the Minor Coordinator should be in-place before undertaking the Thematic Elective.
