Scholarships - Mizzou Engineering

A college education is an investment in your future, and we are committed to making it affordable. That’s why the University of Missouri and the College of Engineering award more than $9 million in scholarships and tuition assistance to undergraduate students each year.


Engineering Scholarships

Mizzou Engineering offers over 240 scholarships to students based on merit, need and special characteristics (ethnicity, place of residence, intended major, etc.). All students, including incoming freshmen and transfers and current students, must apply for engineering scholarships through the University of Missouri’s ScholarshipUniverse application.

Below are a sampling of scholarships awarded by the College of Engineering.

Project Lead the Way

Qualified students will receive a $1,000 renewable scholarship.

FIRST®

Qualified students will receive a $1,000 renewable scholarship.

Multicultural Engineering Program

Qualified students will receive $1,000 to $5,000 annually.

Engineering Scholarships

Mizzou Engineering awards over 240 scholarships each year.


University Scholarships

In addition to scholarships through Mizzou Engineering, students are eligible for campus-wide scholarships through the University. Students also apply for these scholarships through ScholarshipUniverse.

FAFSA

The University also awards scholarships based on financial need. To be eligible for these scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the Jan. 7 priority deadline.

How to Apply for Scholarships

Applying for scholarships is easy. Just visit ScholarshipUniverse and apply for as many scholarships as you want at one time. This platform is for all students, including those who have applied to Mizzou, transfer student and current students.

You can apply for scholarships based on a variety of criteria including merit, need and special characteristics. There are a lot of categories, so don’t assume you won’t qualify!

Scholarship Requirements

Application Instructions:

  1. Apply for admission to Mizzou
  2. Receive your MyZou account
  3. Visit ScholarshipUniverse on the MU Financial Aid site and login using your MyZou account
  4. Choose “College of Engineering”
  5. Answer questions to be matched with scholarships
  6. Look through matched scholarships and hit “APPLY”
  7. Verify your scholarship matches
  8. Fill out additional information including volunteer experience, community contributions, leadership roles, extracurricular activities, awards and honors and a statement on how scholarships will impact your education (financial need, etc.)
  9. Submit your application
  10. Contact MU Financial Aid with any questions.

Renewable and departmental scholarship requirements:

  • Complete the MU Financial Aid General Scholarship Application through ScholarshipUniverse
  • Be a sophomore, junior or senior
  • Maintain a minimum MU cumulative 3.5 GPA
  • Take at least one math and one three-credit science or engineering course a semester. If math requirements have been met, students must take two science or engineering courses per semester.

Awards are annual, with half of the funding available for the fall semester and half available for spring semester. Students must submit an application each year.

  2. Verify “College of Engineering” is listed as your academic unit
  3. Answer questions to be matched with scholarships
  4. Look through matched scholarships and hit “APPLY”
  5. Verify your scholarship matches
  6. Review your application and hit “SUBMIT”
  7. Contact MU Financial Aid with any questions
