MU hires College’s international outreach coordinator to direct campus international STEM, engineering program
Miguel Ayllon, the College of Engineering’s international outreach coordinator, was recently named the director of international engineering and STEM programs for MU.
Ayllon was one of 10 MU faculty and staff members to receive a 2016 Excellence in Education Award from MU Student Affairs and the Parent Leadership Council in April.

Zach Sharp, a senior mechanical engineering major from Independence, Mo., was one of 39 seniors chosen as Mizzou ’39 Award recipients in a ceremony held Feb. 29. MU professors from several different departments offered advice to young Latino and Latina students on October 14, when Mizzou’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers hosted its second annual Latin@s in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) panel.
The 4th Annual International Field-Reversible Thermal Connector [RevCon] Challenge, sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency [DARPA], was held Oct. 23 at the Reynolds Journalism Institute and Lafferre Hall on the campus of the University of Missouri.
The coordinated effort to ensure Lafferre Hall remains accessible for persons with disabilities during the ongoing renovation process earned several staff members from the University of Missouri College of Engineering a Lee Henson Access Mizzou Award from the Chancellor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities.
The Lafferre Hall renovation project includes some renovation of the original 1882 structure where much of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department is located.
