A joint interest in geographic information systems and computers led MU undergraduate Jeff King down an interesting educational path, and his efforts recently landed him one of three 2016 Association of American Geographers Marble-Boyle Undergraduate Achievement Awards in Geographic Sciences.
Panacea’s Cloud is a collaboration between MU researchers Prasad Calyam, assistant professor of computer science, and Sal Ahmad, assistant professor of surgery and medical director of the Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Its purpose is to utilize Google Glass and Recon Jet smart eyewear to allow first responders to relay real-time information to medical directors to allow for informed, systematic care in disaster situations where communication systems may otherwise be compromised.
Elizabeth Loboa was announced as a member of the 2016 class elected to the AIMBE College of Fellows, and she will be formally inducted into the College of Fellows during AIMBE’s annual event in April in Washington, D.C.
Sanjeev Khanna, C.W. LaPierre Professor in the MU Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, was named a member of the latest class of ASME Fellows in December.
