Ireland: ENGR 2100 Circuit Theory for Engineers

Take a core engineering course or technical elective, make progress toward your degree completion, and work with global engineering companies while enjoying Galway’s rich culture and history!

Join MU Engineering professor Robert O’Connell for ENGR 2100 – Circuit Theory this summer in Ireland! In addition to the campus culture at the National University of Ireland and surrounding area, there will be tours and activities planned to fit around your class schedule, such as an excursion to the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, or the Burren region near Galway.

Classes are held Monday – Thursday, with three-day weekends to allow more time for student travel.

Courses taught in English.

Program Dates

Students must be in Galway no later than Friday, May 31, 2019 for check-in and orientation and students can depart accommodations on Friday, June 28, 2019.

*Students will be required to attend 1-2 pre-departure classes covering some course material, safety, packing, and other travel requirements.

Accommodations

Shared apartments in Galway’s residential neighborhoods (10-15 walking distance to campus) near restaurants and shops for students to enjoy during their off time.

Eligibility

Course pre-requisites: Math 1500 (Calculus 1) & Math 1700 (Calculus 2)

Open to all engineering departments, UM System and SEC students

Costs

Program Fee: $3,500*
*Includes on-site support, housing, international health insurance, Engineering Study Abroad fees, International Center fees, cultural excursions, program-related transportation, partner university lectures, company visits and some meals.

    *Based on Missouri Resident tuition & fees
  • Airfare: $1,250 – $1,300

Financial Aid

All eligible students may apply for scholarships through the College of Engineering Study Abroad programs found here.

Financial Aid packages are typically granted in the form of low-interest student loans that cover all trip related expenses (tuition, fees, accommodations, activities and personal expenses)

To be considered for aid, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a study abroad trip
  • Complete your financial aid worksheet with your study abroad advisor
    • Take the sheet to Student Financial Aid in 11 Jesse Hall to meet with a financial aid advisor (no appointment necessary or an appointment can be made through MU Connect).

If you are awarded financial aid for study abroad, it will be applied to your MU account according to the regular financial aid disbursement schedule.
