Aycan Hacioglu, Assistant Teaching Professor
Biomedical, Biological & Chemical Engineering
Aycan Hacioglu is an assistant teaching professor in the Department of Biomedical, Biological and Chemical Engineering at the University of Missouri. Her teaching skills were recognized by a Ray W. Fahien Graduate Teaching Award at the University of Florida. During working toward her doctorate, she received a Chateaubriand Fellowship to conduct research and enroll in a dual Ph.D. program with Universite Lille 1- Sciences et Technologies in France. She studied the mass transfer and solute separation due to oscillatory flows in different flow geometries with the aim of designing a physical separation device. This study may have applications in air purification during space missions, biomolecules sorting in microfluidic devices and particle removal from channel walls leading to an enhancement in cleaning. Aycan’s research interests include mathematical modeling, computational and experimental fluid mechanics and separation technologies.
