Josiah Bryan, Assistant Teaching Professor
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Josiah Bryan is an assistant teaching professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. He is responsible for teaching the engineering graphics courses, ENGINR 1100 Engineering Graphics Fundamentals and MAE 1100 Introduction to Computer-Aided Design (CAD). His graduate research included trajectory optimization for reusable launch vehicles and Kalman filter design for real-time parameter estimation in order to determine the dynamic stability of milling processes. More recently he has worked on automatic grading software and a molecular dynamics simulation. He is particularly interested in pursuing research in engineering education, mechanical design, physical modeling and dynamics, and physically-based sound synthesis. He currently serves as faculty advisor for Mizzou Eco-Racing and Mizzou Students’ Underwater Robotics Foundation (SURF). He is a Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP) and SOLIDWORKS Accredited Educator.
