Biography

Yun-sheng (Shawn) Xu is an senior research associate in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. Xu’s expertise is in the areas of geothermal energy, energy efficiency and industrial heat recovery. He is currently working on renewable energy and energy efficiency in the agricultural sector with funding support from the U.S. Department of Energy. Xu served as a consultant in use of renewable geothermal energy in facilities for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He also is helping MU with international technology transfer. Xu serves as director of the Chinese chapter of the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association.
