Paul Chan, associate professor emeritus of chemical engineering, was named interim chair of the Chemical Engineering Department by Dean Elizabeth Loboa. The appointment became effective Jan. 1.
Elizabeth Loboa, the dean of the College of Engineering, recently announced the appointment of three faculty members to new leadership positions — Sheila Grant, Hani Salim and Cerry Klein. Associate Dean Steve Devlin also will continue in his role.

The 4th Annual International Field-Reversible Thermal Connector [RevCon] Challenge, sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency [DARPA], was held Oct. 23 at the Reynolds Journalism Institute and Lafferre Hall on the campus of the University of Missouri.
Elizabeth G. Loboa became the MU College of Engineering’s 11th dean and the first woman to serve as the college’s chief executive officer on Oct. 15, 2015.
Elizabeth G. Loboa, an associate chair and professor of the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University (NCSU), and a professor of materials science and engineering at North Carolina State, has been named dean of the University of Missouri College of Engineering, effective October 15, 2015.
