Mizzou NSBE was named Region V Medium Sized Chapter of the Year for chapters with less than 75 members. The chapter also won the National T.O.R.C.H. (Technical Outreach and Community Help) Chapter of the Year for their work in the Columbia community and had two members elected to regional leadership.
Mizzou NSBE was named the Most Outstanding Chapter in the MO Zone for the second consecutive year, and two individual members won a trio of awards.
National conventions are key opportunities for networking, visibility, student recruitment and more for engineering student organizations. The Mizzou chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) not only maximized those opportunities, but had two members elected to prestigious regional posts at this year’s NSBE Annual Convention from March 29 to April 2 in Kansas City, Mo.
The Mizzou chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) has had a terrific year, and the organization’s efforts were rewarded with a Chancellor’s Excellence Award for Most Improved Organization at a ceremony April 7 in the MU Student Center.
Mizzou’s NSBE chapter was named the Most Outstanding Chapter in the MO Zone and VP Walta Abraham was named the Most Professional Collegiate Member.
