NROTC ties for 3rd; Tiger Battalion Color Guard earns 1st at annual drill meet

The University of Missouri Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Unit tied for 3rd place at the 2024 Colorado Drill Meet hosted by the University of Boulder in March.

The annual event drew participants from 18 NROTC Units nationwide, showcasing the skill and dedication of Midshipmen through a variety of challenges.

The Tiger Battalion Color Guard claimed first place in the color guard competition. Midshipman 2nd Class Chase Fievet demonstrated remarkable leadership skills as Color Guard Captain, exemplifying the highest standards of excellence within the Naval Service.

Midshipman 2nd Class Zachary Henderson also exemplified leadership as the Endurance Team Captain, guiding the team through rigorous challenges at over 8,000 feet of elevation during an endurance race. His drive and commitment were instrumental in the team’s success, earning them commendation and recognition

Other activities included a precision shooting contest, a Jeopardy-style knowledge competition, a tug-of-war and close-order drill.

The Drill Meet fosters camaraderie and serves as a profound reminder of the enduring values of discipline and tradition cherished within the Marine Corps and Navy.
