Program details

Each program is a stand-alone, short-term training opportunity, allowing participants to enroll in one program or complete multiple programs based on their career goals.

Program components

Every program includes three key components:

  • Foundational skills: Introduction to construction, communication, leadership, teamwork, conflict resolution and other professional skills valued by employers
  • Technical training: In-depth instruction focused on the specific program topic and industry skills
  • Applied learning: Supervised workplace learning experiences that allow participants to practice their skills in a real-world setting through opportunities such as job shadowing, short-term internships, pre-apprenticeships and other employer-sponsored learning experiences

Program format

Each program consists of 150 total contact hours and is delivered online and asynchronously. Programs operate on a cohort schedule with set start and end dates, but participants can complete coursework at the times that best fit their schedules each week. Participants should expect to commit 15-20 hours a week to coursework.

Of the 150 contact hours, some are dedicated to supervised workplace learning experiences. These experiences may be completed:

  • Concurrently while participating in the eight-week online program, or
  • Within four weeks after completing the online coursework

All programs must be completed 15 weeks from the start date.

Certificate completion

Participants must achieve a 70% or higher passing score in order to successfully complete the program. Participants will receive a digital badge and program certificate of completion.

Cost

These programs will be available at no-cost for a limited time as part of a U.S. Department of Education FIPSE-SP Grant.

Available programs

Participants may enroll in one or multiple programs based on their career goals.
