Biography

Jim Ries is an associate teaching professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is currently the Principal Technical Architect for Veterans United Home Loans (the #1 VA Mortgage lender in the United States) in Columbia, Missouri. Mr. Ries previously held technical positions with a variety of companies including Cerner, EngiNet Technologies, Siemens PLM, and Datastorm. He holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Missouri and is “all but dissertation” toward a PhD in Computer Science. Mr. Ries enjoys adjunct teaching at Mizzou, and has taught Operating Systems I, UNIX Operating Systems, and Science and Engineering of the World Wide Web.
