Election to AIChE Fellow is one of the highest honors in chemical engineering and recognizes significant professional accomplishments and contributions in engineering. Candidates are nominated by peers, including at least two current fellows, and undergo an extensive review process. Selections are decided by the organization’s board of directors.

Xing studies functional materials with applications in energy conversion and storage. His research has been featured in prestigious journals and recognized in patents. He has been deeply engaged in AIChE, serving as a division chair and sitting on its Chemical Engineering Technology Operating Council. He has chaired or co-chaired more than 30 technical sessions at the AIChE annual and spring meetings.

A Mizzou faculty member since 2012, Xing has built a distinguished career as an educator, researcher, and leader in the field of chemical engineering. His election to AIChE fellow brings distinction to the department and the college.

New fellows will be acknowledged at a ceremony held at the AIChE Annual Meeting Nov. 8-12 in Minneapolis.
