Biography

Gang Yao received a BS degree in physics from Nanjing University in 1989 and a PhD degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University in 2000. He was a software engineer at GE Medical Systems from 2001-2002 prior to joining the engineering faculty at University of Missouri. He is currently a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. His current research focuses on studying light-tissue interactions and developing new optical imaging methods for biomedical applications.
