Biography

Alicia Esquivel Morel is a graduate instructor in the Department of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Missouri and a PhD candidate in computer science. She earned her master’s degree as a Fulbright Scholar at MU. Her research interests include cloud and edge computing, AI-driven security for IoT and mobile networks, federated learning, Zero Trust Architecture, intrusion detection and critical infrastructure resilience. She has co-authored more than 15 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to NSF-funded projects and gained experience in collaborative grant proposal writing. Her work has been recognized with the Outstanding PhD Student Award at MU.
