Biography
Yi Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Missouri. He received his PhD degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2022 and his BS and MS degrees in Precision Instruments and Optoelectronics Engineering from Tianjin University in 2013 and 2015.
Wang’s research group conducts highly interdisciplinary research, including advanced micro- and nanoscale manufacturing, multi-field-assisted 3D printing for terrestrial and in-space manufacturing, biomedical device development such as flexible brain–machine interfaces, ultrasonic-assisted machining, and AI-driven smart manufacturing. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), professional associations, and industry partners. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award. In addition to his research activities, he contributes to workforce development by providing Industry 4.0 certificate training programs for industry professionals.
