Marine Officer

A second lieutenant’s career begins with his or her primary Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). Every specialty demands mature, responsible leadership. As a Marine Corps Officer, prepare to be challenged physically, mentally, and morally. You will be leading Marines on a daily basis and they will look up to you. Be prepared for the challenge of leadership and never accept average.

Upon graduation from the University of Missouri and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, prepare to train at The Basic School in Quantico, VA for six months. Your performance at The Basic School determines your MOS. You will be graded on physical performance, grades on examinations, and leadership ability.
