Overview
Student Success is one of the three pillars in the Mizzou Strategic Plan and as well as the College of Engineering Strategic Plan. Supporting students to graduate successfully and on time begins with high quality experiences in the classroom. This initiative will provide faculty with the tools and resources to evaluate current practices and design interventions to mitigate high DFW rates and improve learning outcomes for all students.
Faculty Learning Community
The FLC will convene in June 2026 and work over a period of two months. Faculty will participate in the following activities:
- Teaching for Learning Center (T4LC) Course Redesign Institute, which will be held July 14–30, 2026. You will explore Gen AI opportunities, address student learning bottlenecks and use evidence-based processes to boost engagement.
- Biweekly meetings to discuss strategies of each component discussed at the workshop and present the proposed solutions to adopt in Fall 2026.
- Peer review of the redesigned course materials/syllabus, with a narrative presenting planned interventions and anticipated outcomes.
- A final meeting of the group will take place upon completion of the Fall 2026 semester to discuss outcomes and experiences.
