College of Engineering alumni are the backbone of the Women in Engineering Center. In February 2015, an alumna helped launch the Center with an anonymous gift. The continued support of College of Engineering alumni helps our Center progress and grow each year.
Most importantly, College of Engineering alumni serve as role models for our students. Young women in engineering who are just beginning to explore their future careers seek out alumni for advice and encouragement. The success of our alumnae shows prospective and current students the limitless possibilities available to them through a career in engineering, and their honest accounts of the workplace teach our students how to advocate for themselves as women in engineering.
The Women in Engineering Center offers a number of involvement opportunities for alumni. We are always looking for interested alumni to share their experiences with students at events such as the Student Services Seminar Series, the Middle School Leadership Conference and the 1907 Celebration of Women in Engineering. If you are interested in speaking at one of these events, contact WIE Center Director Kate Trauth or GA Joel Dalton for more information. Alumni can get their workplaces involved with our Center by making them aware of our Cross-Cultural Professional Development Certificate.
If you are interested in starting a social networking event for College of Engineering alumnae in your area, please contact our Center.
No gift is too small. Consider making a gift to the Mizzou Women in Engineering Center.
