The Industrial and Systems Engineering Hall of Fame welcomed eight new members at an awards banquet on Nov. 15.
The Hall of Fame was established to honor distinguished industrial engineering graduates whose careers have made a significant impact within their field and to recognize those who have made outstanding contributions to the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
“I’m thrilled to welcome these newest inductees into the ISE Hall of Fame,” James Noble, department chair, said. “These nine individuals represent what we hope all our graduates become once they receive their diplomas and begin making a difference through their careers.”
This year’s inductees are:
- Emily Dierberg, BS IE ‘04
- David S. Kim, BS IE ‘04
- Nick McLean, BS IE ‘03
- Amit Midha, MS IE ‘95
- Craig Reynolds, BS IE ‘94
- David Schnedler, BS IE ‘72
- Zim Schwartze, BS IE ‘89
- Teresa Zayas Cabán, BS IE ‘01
During the induction banquet, the department also recognized four individuals with Achievement Awards. Haley Hoeven, B.S. IE ‘16, received the junior career award as a founding partner at 503 Capital Partners. Associate Professor Sharan Srinivas took home the Outstanding Faculty Award and Associate Teaching Professor Mike Klote won the Outstanding Instructor Award. Additionally, Fatemeh Pourdehghan was awarded the Graduate Teaching Assistant Award.
Earlier in the day, 2024 inductee Amit Midha delivered a keynote address titled, “Transformation to Autonomous Systems – Powered by Sustainability: A Manufacturing Perspective.”
About the Inductees
Dierberg, an employment lawyer, manages her own firm, the Law Offices of Emily Armstrong, LLC, and serves as “of counsel” for Matheson & Matheson.
Kim is an intellectual property lawyer and is a partner at Stinson LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm with 13 office locations nationwide.
McLean is the co-founder and managing principal of Four Pillars Investors, a Kansas City-based private equity firm that acquires and operates businesses in the lower middle market.
Midha is chief executive officer at Alat, responsible for the realization of the Saudi Arabia’s ambition to build a world-class manufacturing hub that will strategically transform global industries through next generation technologies, innovation and sustainable practices.
Reynolds is vice president, west region, for Agilix Solutions, where he has leadership responsibilities for sales growth, overall profitability and development of customer solutions for industrial and commercial markets.
Schnedler was in leadership positions over his career at McKinsey & Company, Lear Siegler, Bendix Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, Palm Inc., and founded Metari Inc. He also spent five years as an adjunct instructor in Saint Louis University’s MBA program.
Schwartze is the chief of police for the Missouri Capital Police in her hometown of Jefferson City, Missouri.
Zayas Cabán is assistant director for policy development at the National Library of Medicine where she leads the organization’s policy development and implementation activities.
