Jian “Javen” Lin is an assistant professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. He was previously a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering at Rice University. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and automation engineering in 2007, followed by a master’s degree in electrical engineering and doctorate in mechanical engineering in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

His research interests are in the fields of nanomanufacturing for energy conversion and storage, as well as large-area electronic devices, through developing novel nanomaterials and device architectures. Lin has published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal papers in the areas of energy, electronics and nanomaterials. He holds four issued and pending international patents. He has been an invited reviewer for 10 scientific journals. His work in transparent and flexible memory has been highlighted featured by the National Science Foundation and the American Chemical Society and featured in Science Daily. His work in lithium ion batteries anodes enables the wide report such as Air Force Research Lab, Manufacturing Engineering magazine, Science Daily.
