Biography
Xiaohua Liu is a professor in the Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. He obtained his B.S. and Ph.D. from Tsinghua University and completed his postdoc training at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on cell-material interaction, biomimetic materials for tissue regeneration, and controlled drug delivery. To date, he has published over 90 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals such as Nature Materials, Progress in Polymer Science, Biomaterials, Advanced Science, and Journal of Dental Research. His research has been continuously funded by NIH. He serves as a standing member in the NIH ODCS study section (2021-2025). His research contributions have been recognized by many awards, recently including Basic Science Faculty Research Award (2018), TAMU Presidential Impact Fellow (2019), International Association for Dental Research (IADR) JDR Cover of the Year Award (2021), Annals of Biomedical Engineering (ABME) most cited paper Award over 50 years (2022) and International Association for Dental Research/American Association for Dental Oral Craniofacial Research (IADR/AADOCR) William J. Gies Award (2023).
