Mark Connelly, Sven Krasser and Betsy Soehren Jones have joined the Mizzou Cybersecurity Center Industrial Advisory Board (IAB).

The IAB, established in 2021, helps the College of Engineering enhance curriculum and research to best meet emerging needs within cybersecurity fields.

“We are fortunate to have IAB members who can lend their cybersecurity expertise to the College and advise on future directions of research, education and infrastructure,” Rohit Chadha, cybersecurity center director and associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) said.

Connelly is the chief information security officer of Boston Consulting Group, where he leverages more than 30 years of experience in risk and security, IT and business management experience. Previously, he was the first CISO with Thomson Reuters and ITT.

Krasser currently serves as senior vice president and chief scientist at CrowdStrike, where he leads the machine learning efforts utilizing CrowdStrike’s big data information security platform. He is co-inventor of more than 30 patented network and host security technologies.

Jones is managing director of West Monroe, a global business and technology consulting firm, as well as the volunteer executive director of the Critical Infrastructure Security Consortium.

“With such assets as the Cybersecurity Center, Mizzou is a global leader in cybersecurity education,” said Curator’s Distinguished Professor Prasad Calyam, co-director of the Cybersecurity Center and director of the Cyber Education, Research and Infrastructure (CERI) Center.

“The IAB further drives that reputation by advising on ways the College can advance cybersecurity training, engage strategically with industry/government groups and how Mizzou Engineers can apply their research to real-world issues in cybersecurity,” Calyam said.

Connelly, Krasser and Jones join current IAB members Cindi Carter, Check Point Software; Ryan Frillman, Equifax; Jason Martin, Defense Information Systems Agency; Randy Raw, Veterans United Home Loans; and Jon Rolf, National Security Agency.
