Linda Jo Wright was honored with the Citation of Merit at Mizzou Engineering’s annual Award Banquet March 14.

Conferred by the MU Engineering Alumni Organization, the award recognizes those who have distinguished themselves in service to the College and profession.

“As a leader in the profession and a dedicated alumna, Linda has made an enduring impact on Mizzou Engineering,” Mizzou Engineering Dean Marisa Chrysochoou said. “We are grateful for her many contributions to the success of our College and our students.”

Wright retired as a senior technical manager after a distinguished 33-year career with Honeywell. She is also a past member of the Engineering Dean’s Advisory Committee.

She has been a generous supporter of Mizzou Engineering. In 2017, she endowed the Scott N. Wright Memorial Scholarship after her late husband, who also earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Mizzou. She later served on the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Industrial Advisory Board.

Wright encouraged students to live well-rounded lives and to make the most of their time in college. “Mizzou gives you a well-rounded education,” she said. “It’s good to be able to communicate across teams and across functions, because if you can’t do that, it’s hard to be successful out in the business world.”
