The Student Experience

Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering students at Mizzou have the unique opportunity to obtain real-world experience before graduation through summer internships or coops, participate in intersession study abroad courses, earn an optional green-belt certificate in lean six sigma, or graduate with a 5-year BSIE/MBA or BSIE/MSIE dual degree.

Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering students are prepared for the growing industry by talented and dedicated faculty focused on cutting-edge research and teaching. Engineering is about problem solving, math and physics. Learning probability, statistics and optimization, students become strong quantitative thinkers.Industrial engineering students put theory into practice on competitive teams, combining their efforts with fellow engineering members and students from other majors.

Students can take advantage of internships and co-ops to receive credit toward their degree. The senior experience culminates with the capstone design project, a real-life design project completed jointly with practicing engineers from industry and government organizations.
