Biography

Henry Brown is a research engineer in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Missouri. His research interests include traffic operations, transportation safety, highway engineering, transportation planning, stormwater management, pavement management and access management. Prior to joining MU, he worked for 14 years as a highway engineer for the Indiana Department of Transportation. At INDOT, he prepared design plans and contract documents for a variety of road projects and handled project coordination with many different stakeholders. Before working at INDOT, he obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Purdue University. His graduate research involved working with INDOT to develop tools to evaluate access control alternatives, including development of safety and traffic models. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Indiana and Missouri.
