Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Biography

Yue Jin is an assistant professor in the John J. Boswell Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Missouri. Before joining Mizzou, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at MIT. His research interests span multiple areas of thermal-fluid sciences and nuclear engineering, including fluid flow mass and heat transfer, reactor thermal hydraulics, design, modeling, and optimization of complex energy and electronics systems (microchannel thermal management, compact heat exchangers/steam generators, advanced nuclear reactors, etc.). He is also interested in the development and validation of multi-scale multi-physics numerical tools used for energy system analysis. Dr. Jin is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award and selected for the U.S. DOE-NE Distinguished Early Career Program (DECP) Award. He currently serves as an active member on the American Nuclear Society (ANS) Thermal Hydraulics Division (THD) Executive Committee and Program Committee, and the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) safety subcommittee.
